December 18, 2007 - Chaska, Minnesota

Minnesota-based Outland Renewable Energy, LLC. (Outland) announced that they have named Ingrid Bjorklund as vice president of government affairs and associate general counsel. Bjorklund will oversee government affairs and legal work for Outland across the country. Bjorklund, whose appointment was effective Dec. 10, had been serving as Outland’s lobbyist since Feb. 2007.

“We are pleased Ingrid is joining Outland in this vital government relations position. Her extensive energy experience and legislative knowledge will serve us well as we continue to grow,” said Tom Melone, Outland’s chief executive officer. “She will be a strong addition to our leadership team as Ingrid’s expertise with energy regulation and transmission infrastructure is invaluable as we work together with communities, regulators, and lawmakers.”

Bjorklund comes to Outland from Lindquist & Vennum, P.L.L.P. where she practiced corporate and energy law and lobbied on energy-related issues. Her work included representing ethanol and biodiesel developers, electric utilities, and wind developers. Bjorklund also has more than a decade of government relations experience, which includes lobbying on major issues such as the renewable energy standard, greenhouse gas regulations, eminent domain, and streamlining the regulatory process for new transmission lines.

Bjorklund’s public service and membership portfolio includes serving on the Ramsey Conservation District Board (1999 - 2004) where she was elected countywide as Ramsey Conservation District Supervisor in the 1998 and 2000 general elections. Bjorklund also is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Minnesota Governmental Relations Council.

Ingrid holds a J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law, an M.A. in public policy from The George Washington University, and a B.A. in international relations from the College of St. Catherine.
